Genie 4 API status: is it available yet?

Last updated:

Not yet. As of October 28, 2026, there is no public Genie 4 API. Google has said early access partners of the Gemini API and Google AI Studio will be among the first to get it, but it has not published a model ID, documentation, pricing or a date. This page tracks what is official and what is still unknown.

Genie 4 API status at a glance

Last checked October 28, 2026. Google’s announcement says Genie 4 is rolling out to trusted testers first, then coming to Google AI Ultra subscribers in Project Genie and to early access partners of the Gemini API and Google AI Studio. We also searched the public Gemini API model list and found no Genie 4 entry.

Where the Genie 4 API will show up first

Google DeepMind blog

The October 27 announcement is the only official statement about Genie 4 access so far. It names the Gemini API and Google AI Studio as developer routes, starting with early access partners. Any change to that plan is most likely to appear here first.

Gemini API model list

Every model you can call through the Gemini API is listed in Google’s public model catalog, with its model ID and docs. When Genie 4 opens to developers, this is where the model ID will appear. As of our last check, it is not there.

Vertex AI Model Garden

Google Cloud’s enterprise models live in Vertex AI Model Garden. Google has not said Genie 4 is coming to Vertex AI, and we found no listing there. It is still worth watching, because it is where Google Cloud lists the models enterprise customers can deploy.

Google Labs (Project Genie)

Project Genie is the consumer app, not an API. It needs a Google AI Ultra subscription and is available in a limited list of countries. Genie 4 is coming to Project Genie, but using the app does not give you API access.

What developers can do before the API opens

Write down what you want the model to do, such as letting a player walk through a scene or changing the weather mid-session, and keep that separate from any request format. The official demos show language controls like changing the weather, moving the camera and adding a person or object, but Google has not said which of these the API will expose. DeepMind’s model page also lists limits worth planning around: sessions last a few minutes rather than hours, visual details can drift over time, real places are not reproduced exactly, and clear text usually appears only when it is in your prompt. For budgeting, the $99.99 per month Ultra plan is a consumer subscription and tells you nothing about API pricing. If you need a world model API today, World Labs offers a public World API for Marble; it generates explorable 3D worlds you can render on the web or export to other tools, which is a different kind of output from Genie’s real-time simulation, so check that it fits your use case.

How we track the Genie 4 API

We check Google’s official channels at least once a week and update the table and log above with the date of each check. We only change a status when Google publishes it: a blog post, a model listing or official documentation. Third-party sites selling a “Genie 4 API” are not official unless Google names them. We are an independent site and cannot get you into Google’s early access program. If you want to hear the day the API opens, join our list: we send one email when it opens and nothing before that, and you can unsubscribe anytime.

FAQ

Is there a Genie 4 API?

Not publicly. Google has announced that early access partners of the Gemini API and Google AI Studio will get Genie 4, but there is no public endpoint or documentation yet.

How much will the Genie 4 API cost?

Google has not announced API pricing. The Google AI Ultra plan ($99.99/month in the US) is a consumer subscription, not an API price.

Will Genie 4 be on Vertex AI or the Gemini API?

Google has named the Gemini API and Google AI Studio for early partners. It has not announced Genie 4 on Vertex AI.

When will the Genie 4 API be released?

There is no official date. Genie 4 entered a trusted-tester preview on October 27, 2026, and Google has not said when developers outside the early access group can use it.

Can I get early access through this site?

No. We are independent and not affiliated with Google. Signing up gets you one email when the API opens, not access to Genie 4.
