1. Check eligibility
Before you pay for anything, check three things in the Google Labs FAQ: you are 18 or older, your country is on the supported list, and you have, or are willing to buy, a Google AI Ultra subscription. If any of these rules you out, see our list of Project Genie alternatives.
2. Open Google Labs
Go to Google Labs and launch Project Genie, signed in with the Google account that has your Ultra plan. It runs in the browser. This site is not affiliated with Google and does not host the app.
3. Sketch the scene
Describe your world and your character in text, and optionally add a generated or uploaded image. Project Genie shows you a preview image first, so you can adjust the world before you enter it. You can also choose a first-person or third-person view.
4. Explore and remix
Move through the world and it generates the path ahead in real time, based on what you do. You can adjust the camera, remix other people’s worlds by building on their prompts, and download a video of your exploration. You get a video, not a game file.
